The Northern Central Railway of York has invited TCA members, family and guests to join them for a fun evening riding the rails on the 1860's era replica steam train, Thursday, October 19th, 2023. You'll be whisked back into history as you ride the same rails Abraham Lincoln rode on his way to give his famous Gettysburg Address.
Join us for a gorgeous 30-mile round trip behind #17 winding through the Historic Codorus Valley with a brief stop at the Howard Tunnel to stretch your legs. The Howard Tunnel is the oldest active passenger railroad tunnel in the country! To purchase tickets click - Ticket Sales
The William H. Simpson No. 17 will push the train north to the tunnel while you eat your dinner and enjoy the scenery.
All tickets include a choice of a complimentary boxed dinner:

Wheelchair lift is not available at Howard Tunnel; passengers who wish to exit the train must be able to climb up and down 6 steps without crew assistance.
Bailey Coach cars will pick up passengers at 4 pm at UPMC Orange Hall. Passengers will then ride south to the Northern Central Railway of York Historic Station to board the train for a three-hour excursion. Dinner will be served on the train this year as we head northbound to the Historic Howard Tunnel. Passengers have the option (if able) to disembark the train at the Howard Tunnel. Please note it will be dusk. Passengers will then return southbound to the New Freedom Historic Station. The bus will pick passengers up approximately at 8:30 pm in New Freedom to return to Orange Hall by 9 pm.
