You must tension the spring by crossing the legs, and hold that tension as you slip it on the shaft and up through the fiber board so the legs are 'tensioned' on each side of the shaft lugs. John. I wish I had thought of that. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll bet the installation will be a real ordeal. I'll just have to make sure that there aren't any children around when I do it - lest they be exposed to all the weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Should I trim the spring wires that wrap around the shaft lug if they interfere with the switch handle?
