Seems like the signal with 2 red and 2 blue wires may be missing a pair of wires for one of the LEDs, since the other signal has 3 of each color.

From the Product Description:

You could also power them from AC, however I would use a rectifier diode in series with them.

For control, you may want to consider one of the options from Azatrax or Z-Stuff.
