More progress today - I completed the octagonal cab structure. It was a process to get this far - lots of test fitting and part sanding required to get all eight sides to fit together. Despite best efforts to make all fit perfectly, there are still some gaps along the seams. Since I plan to add interior lighting later, I Used 1/16" square strip panted dark brown as interior trim pieces at each vertical wall seem and along the base of each wall to prevent light leakage. Widows and details across the top of the walls have yet to be added. It will be a few days before I can work on this some more. Next steps are to finish the cab, add the stairs, and then build the roof. After that will come some interior detailing and lighting. An enjoyable project so far.
