Such a system went live for a very short time at Warren Airforce Base in Minot, ND. They were defending the ICBMs there. I worked on the ABM project from 1960 to 1975.

Oh, by the way, ICBMs were stationed at Plattsburg, NY.

FE Warren AFB is in Cheyenne, WY, not Minot, ND.

The only US Army Safeguard ABM site to be deployed and operational was near Grand Forks, AFB, ND to defend the Minuteman ICBM Missiles located there.

Safeguard ABM sites were also proposed to be around Whiteman AFB, MO and Malmstrom AFB, MT but were never deployed.

12 Atlas "F" ICBMs were built and deployed around Plattsburg AFB, NY and were the only ICBMs deployed east of the Mississippi River.
