I have owned a CNJ example from when these were released. Aside from the simplified heat exchangers on its roof and the extended couplers, the model of No. 1000 looks just like the prototype sitting in the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore. Under conventional control, most of the key operational features are available and it runs nicely with excellent speed control without having DCS. Great switching engine. Very good build quality with die cast construction.
A happy purchase.
