I recently purchased a postwar Lionel 6828 crane car complete at a great price and in very nice condition too. It came with a flat car also, of which I already had another 6828 flat car only with no load. About the same time I also eyed the Lionel postwar 6827 P & H shovel flat car. Like the crane car the prices are very high and I decided to make my own version and place it on my extra 6828 flat car. I found a MPC shovel car that had the same yellow shovel load as the post war version minus the P & H logos. Out of curiosity I searched to see if there were any decals available to make the shovel load closer in looks to the postwar version. As luck would have it I found a set and ordered them! Here is my completed version of this car.
