Converting SD70ACe to SD70ACS?

I really want to remodel a Lionel SD70ACe I own (see below) into an SD70ACS, but I don't know how to do plastic molds for the extra parts or using something to carve into the shell because the rear of the SD70ACS is different. I'm only 18, so I'm not that advanced in kitbashing. Last time I tried repainting an old Amtrak Genesis into Phase V (this was before I owned #180, which I got 3 months ago), it was a complete failure and the unfinished and ugly-painted shell is just sitting somewhere in my house and the chassis is disassembled. If I can't even repaint something properly, I can't imagine how bad remodeling will be. I don't want to break it because it cost me a lot of money (around 450, I suppose).

If only an O scale manufacturer made one pre-made...
