I live in eastern NC. I’m not sure about much around the Charlotte area, but the NC state fairgrounds in Raleigh hosts a good number of train shows every year.....really a cool place as there’s usually a nice antique flea market on the fair grounds quite often as well......My son lives in that area and we visit him quite often.....it’s not a bad drive from eastern NC......so I’d have to say from Mooresville to Raleigh to where the fairgrounds are........maybe couple hours??....three at the most???............Pat
