Hello F3 fans and F3 look alike fans! Last Friday I posted some glamorous PRR E8 passenger diesels hauling some less-than-glamorous freight. This week we’ll see that practice isn’t limited to PRR if the Steam Crazy Lines Superintendent of Motive Power is short of freight units (and lacks passenger cars to match the power).

A beautiful Texas Special F3 A-B combo has been assigned to a drab coal drag. It’s rather like a “rose among thorns”, isn’t it?
