It'll be a lot easier to use a resistor than getting involved in painting the bulb. Since you're using DCS with PS/2, why not ask in the MTH DCS forum here, they'll know what bulb is in those. I know that MTH has used low voltage bulbs in some of their stuff, I found 1.5 volt bulbs in the PS/1 units I worked on. Others had 12 volt bulbs.

What's the exact MTH model number of that unit? Perhaps we could look it up on the MTH site.
