Hello all again, thanks to everyone for your response &ideas. Have been busy w/family. Im am concentrating on scatch bldg the north pole village rt now.
After looking at Charlys layout idea earlier, i went back to rr v5 and have since been able to layout the spiral. My laptop screen went out so i cant post it yet, but as soon as it gets back from shop i will.

I went back and watched that video over & over, and i did notice how part of his mountain overhangs the lower track. I realized thats part of the charm of his layout.
