Re the uncoupling tab, it looks like it would be best to either use a remote uncoupler track or reach in there with a bamboo skewer. There are very few couplers that I can operate with my fingers without knocking the car off the track anyway, so that part of the design doesn't bother me.
Thanks for confirming Mallard. I can live with the coupler niggle but not with the wheels not staying on 3 out of 6 cars. I wrote to Pat's asking for a full refund. Maybe mine were an enigma, but a full half of them??? (although technically if there are two trucks per car it's 1/8th of them 
).
