Update!
After a lot of digging through some old threads,
I found that the spring arm from the 'U' terminal was not making contact with the tab on the whistle controller. That worked (sort of) !?
The problem now with the "Direction" button is the 'push rod', (22-13)
It seems this push rod is not long enough. With or without the spring, the button does not make contact with the push rod. The rod actually goes up the center hole of the button and the button actually bottoms out with out moving the spring arm.
