I am not an expert, but I will try to address the question. American Refrigerator Transit was a long time joint venture between the Wabash and Missouri Pacific railroads. A some point in the nineteen-sixties the Wabash was merged into the Norfolk & Western. This car represents the post merger period with N&W acting as as a successor to Wabash under the agreement. Hence the reason for N&W signage on this car. Models of the ART cars usually have Wabash markings rather than N&W. Pat B.
