MTH WIU broken power connector

The mini usb power receptacle in my WIU broke off. I opened up the unit and while I feel comfortable attaching a pigtail power connector directly to traces on the board, there is some sort of component soldered directly to the broken off power receptacle between the + and -. I don't see any markings on the component. Based on its location I would assume it's a capacitor or possibly reverse polarity diode protection.

Basically I have 2 questions.

First, has anyone repaired a WIU with this issue and how did you repair it?
Is there a schematic around that shows the value of the component soldered to the mini usb receptacle?
