One of my recent repairs where the previous person attempted repair and really ripped up the board. I had no choice but to go external wiring and connector rather than direct board mount. It even ripped the positive trace hence that solder blob repair.
Not the best cleanest repair, but the fact it works makes up for it.

You could either scrape off the green solder mask and solder to a point on the trace, or solder to one of the circled solder pads all part of that 5V trace.
