"late in the steam era"? I don't buy covered hopper models because I don't REMEMBER
them on the trains I watched as a kid. I'd like to know the year that first one or
batch rolled out and became common, or at least seen occasionally. I model grain
elevators and plan to serve them with boxcars. Late steam era to me means post WWII.
Were they prolific prior to that, seen during or prior to WWII?
