Hello! I recently moved, and my layout will be in the basement "rec room" where 2/3 will be train layout and the other third will be general living space (maybe a tv/game console in the future, maybe partner's sewing/craft space, tbd). So question, what color should I paint the walls? I'm currently torn between (i) a neutral color that doesn't enhance the layout but doesn't detract from the remaining space or (ii) a blue/sky motif that enhances the layout but may not be the best for the other space.
Layout is a "peninsula" where one side is against the wall and the others are freestanding... courtesy of the slightly weird basement layout. Photos show the layout in the space (resting on the floor); layout was made to be "semi-modular" as I knew years ago I was going to move.
