Brad: I had similar idea and I just ordered that gray textured Rustoleum spray paint from Amazon today because neither the local Home Depot nor Lowe's had the color. I use tubular track also, and I was going to do the same thing, except I was thinking about using the Woodlands Scenic rubber roadbed and then painting it. But your idea may be a lot cheaper and look just as good! Please post some more pictures once you take the paper off and put the track on it. My layout will be 10 x 8. What size platform are you using?
