Powering channel inputs on WTIU

CurtisHOGR Forum Member SUPPORTING MEMBERDIGITAL SUBSCRIBER

After reading several post on the subject I am still a little confused. I know that Lionel transformers should not be used and that a Z4000 is best. BUT, Can I power the channel inputs of a WTIU with a Z500, Z750 or Z1000? What about using a Commander to power it (I believe I saw that this was a definite no).
