Howdy, folks. As promised two weeks ago, here is my Lionel postwar #617 NW2. This is quite hard to find these days as it was only produced one year as part of a set. 1964, I think? It had added trim pieces which were not commonly used by Lionel at that point and unlike the common and o/w identical #616 ATSF.
I added the antennae, bell and horn using repro parts.
The other pics here are from our visit this week to Yosemite National Park. Just south of the park entrance on SR 41, the “Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine” excursion railway is a fun place. We didn’t get to ride the train since our stop didn’t coincide with any runs that day. Still fun to see. And me with a 44-tonner! The #15 Shay was in the barn so all I could get was a front shot.
Oh, and me with El Capitan in Yosemite Valley behind yesterday morning
