I took a look at this to see if forum color-coding could be done. The answer is,"Yes, but... "

All of the colors, page layouts, and fonts used in this forum are contained within a "Theme" file. It is a huge data file containing several hundred setup, page, color, font, menu, and display parameters. In order to change the colors on an individual forum, I would have to make a new theme file for that forum, change the color setups, and set just that forum to use the new theme. I would have to do that for every forum here! It would be a monumental task and it would make the back-end administration of the forums a nightmare.

So while the answer to the OP's question is technically "Yes", the design time it would take to make it happen, and the on-going problems it would create for us in the back-end, make it one of those projects where the end doesn't justify the means.
