Reply to "Williams Reverse Boards - Excessive Heat and reduced speed?"

I'd measure the current drawn by the motors as well.  I've seen a number of the older Williams locomotives that have excessive motor currents due to the cheap motors.  I recently saw a small diecast steam with the small motor that would draw almost 3 amps free running!  Needless to say, the motor got very hot!
