Reply to "Western Roads Wednesday"

Hey Johnathan- I must admit I had never heard of the "St.Louis Southwestern", it that a prototype railroad?  Great colorful livery for sure.  Plus it has those somewhat rounded corner "American Flyer" type windows.  NEAT!

Not sure how I missed this!  St. Louis Southwestern more commonly goes by the name of Cotton Belt.  St. Louis Southwestern is the official name.  All part of Union Pacific now, but it became a subsidiary of the Southern Pacific in the 1930's which is why you will see some common cars, locomotives, and specifically paint schemes like the Daylight scheme on the lone Cotton Belt PA and FP7 as well as the Black Widow scheme on several diesel locomotives.

Totally separate topic, but a most western road and one I get to every few years to photograph.
