I mounted a K-Line F-7 on a MTH Proto 2, F-3 frame and the only problem was the holes not lining up. I taped every nook and cranny to insure that when I drilled new holes thru the MTH frame that the metal shavings would not get into any electronics.
The only area that I forgot to protect was the speaker. The Speaker magnet will catch any and all that you might think you can get using a vacuum cleaner while drilling thru the frame. Lesson learned. Remove the electronics board if you're going to drill new holes for the shell to attach to the frame. And, don't use compressed air to try and remove stray particles as they will also go straight to the magnet on the speaker.
