If I still had a store or if I just open a new store, I would have these tank cars in the store for sale. At $29.95, nicely detailed and die cast trucks you can't go wrong. Plus these tank cars come in a very nice box. I prefer cars being in a box. It makes them so much easier to display and store. I would have a field day doing custom runs. The possibilities are endless.

Just received the UTLX tank car from Trainworld. Very nice looking car; has a good heft and weight to it and rolls and tracks well. Hidden coupler tabs and brake hoses are really nice features for a car at this price point. I give Walter and RMT five thumbs up for these new tank cars! I’m looking forward to receiving the Monsanto car when the next batch arrives in late February.

One thing I will note insofar as the minimum radius that is listed as being O-31. All of my curves and switches are O-27 and the car rolls very well with no binding. If you have O-27 track, don’t let that deter you from buying some of these nice cars.

I saw these advertised last year and they looked pretty good in the ad. Even though I always thought of RMT trains as more of a toy train, they I figured for $29.95, I would order one and see for myself. Mine showed up two days ago and I was stunned. These are scale size with good detailing and excellent graphics. I liked it so much, I called the dealer I ordered them from within an hour and ordered three more! So here is a photo of the one I already received, both with and with out the platform which apparently is meant to be removable (I will probably leave mine off). I'll post photos of all four of them when the other three (2 more UTLX and a Texaco) arrive in the next day or two either here or on Weekend Photo Fun.

Nice looking car Neal. I have my tank quota all in one container, don't need any more. The market is also flooded with them. I have to wonder why the others have to charge us over 70 bucks for freight cars these days. RMT must have found a better way. Instead of buying one car from the others, I'm certain folks will buy bunches of RMT's at that price.

Makes you wonder???

SIRT..." I have to wonder why the others have to charge us over 70 bucks for freight cars these days. RMT must have found a better way. Instead of buying one car from the others, I'm certain folks will buy bunches of RMT's at that price ".

Since starting a business relationship with manufacturers offshore over 30 years ago, I am able to utilize knowledge learned along with my 'train guy' model railroad interests to create and continue the RMT product line. As a hobbyist owned company, RMT offers items that I would be inclined to operate/collect myself and hopefully would be enjoyed by others in the hobby...a quality premium product, attractive prototypically inspired paint schemes, nice selection with many roadnames, attention to details, listening to many customers like yourself to make RMT a better product and most of all - as you said in your above post... a better way - realistic and fair pricing to the hobbyist.

It all happens when great manufacturing partners along with a great distributor (Emery) and supported by great hobby train stores who have great enthusiastic customers come together with RMT to offer these model train items that you can read about in OGR magazine and on this OGR Forum.

Thank you SIRT for your nice comments...they are appreciated.

By the way, I always enjoy your photos posted showing a very realistic 3-rail O-gauge layout.

When you look at the prices in the 2023 Lionel Catalog you can buy a nice consists of tankers for the price of one piece of Lionel rolling stock. I just picked up the Strasburg and Tidewater tank cars and can't believe what you get for $29.95.  Looking forward to the next incoming products. Keep up the great work RMT, the future of affordable model trains is yours!

Good list.  Looks like considerable thought was put into it.  I would especially like to see the green Cities Service, the green Sinclair, and the Sunoco with 1950s-era graphics.  Penn Salt, Pennzoil, and Quaker State would be next on my list.

What would be cool on the Esso car is if it also had the tiger on it.

Steve

I ordered two Strasburg tankers from Pat’s Trains.

Pat described the quality and when they arrived today, Pat was spot on.

Thank you, Pat.

I very impressed, as impressed as I still am with my original, inexpensive BEEPS that are still running, and my grandson, ecstatic!

Other manufactures, take note. RMT is doing what you apparently don’t want to do, producing good quality, desired road names as AFFORDABLE prices!

Great job, Walter. Thank you!
