1950's Santa Fe Railroad - Right & Wrong Way to Deliver a New Television!

Apparently, pride has been gone from the American workplace alot longer than I thought!

Thank you so much.  That was very cool.  The real McCoy!  Lots of good looks at the yard.  But, mostly the motivational talk was simply inspiring.  65,000 employees.  A period long ago passed.  Any idea what year this was made?  Thanks again...

Wow, that's a real period piece.  LCL shipments with manual loading of individual boxes, loose-car switching, a UP turbine engine, icing refrigerator cars, hotboxes. People excited about buying a TV set! And the railroad has a whole warehouse of damaged merchandise!

I thought about it, but all the boxcars banging into each other reminded me

of me trying to make up a train on my model railroad...  And If I had merchandise

in the cars it would also be in the damages warehouse...

The television set looks like a 52-53 Motorola.

 

The Studebaker truck is a 53 or older. The grille changed in 54.

Classic stuff there. Some things never change, and some things change a lot. Twenty minutes and not one lime green safety vest in sight!

Railroad Salvage, do you see those stores anywhere now?

 

Over the years rail cars builder have developed chushioned underframes, and better bulkheads to secure the loads.
