1996 Steam Loco with RailSounds, are there updated operating instructions?

My Texas & Pacific has not been out of the box in a long time. According to the manual I need to use a "Sound Activation Button" and/or "Horn/Whistle & Bell Switch" depending on the transformer used.

I have a CW, does anyone know if using that would eliminate the need for the buttons?
