Did it come in a freight set?  I saw images of it in a passenger set but couldn't find any with a freight set.  I'm curious because I was only 1 year old when my father bought what I call the family train - which today consists of the 2343 with magne-traction and about 10 freight cars including action cars like the milk car, a side dump car, an orange car where a guy pops out of the door, and the coal dump car that goes with the ramp.  There are also non-action cars such as Sunoco oil and several others

As always, thanks - walt

Yes, it did!.......Because that's what I received from Santa around 1950!!

But, I'd be pleased to know the set number if anyone can identify it from this list...

2343 ABA

Operating Boxcar

Coal Dump Car

Log Dump Car

Searchlight Car

Caboose

...Talk about 'play value' in a single set!!!!!!

I still have the set.  It all works.  It's in decent played-with (not abused!) condition.

My cold dead fingers will have to be pried from it to let it go!

Anyone know the set number??

Thx....

KD

Jim!!...That's my set!....The 2161W!

Thanks for the information!

I remember receiving the B-unit from Santa in the same year, but I couldn't remember it as a separate present.  The set itself was wrapped in white paper, and red ribbon with a HUGE bow.  It was front-and-center in the morning's haul!  (I also remember my older sister pointing out later that day that the package tag "From Santa" was curiously written in Mom's handwriting!  Now, how did THAT happen?????.......)  And, oh yes, a ZW was part of the largess of that memorable morning!!  It was, indeed, a Christmas morning etched in the cranial matter forever.

Merry Christmas to y'all!

KD
