Can I use a 12 volt potentiometer in line to control voltage to 342 unloader?

That will control the current, but it probably won't make much of a difference in the voltage as the 342 draws very little current at operating speed.
Also, potentiometers are rated in ohms & current.
Thanks The Unloader runs great at 14 volts but the loader whips the culverts ove the gondola onto table. when i reduce voltage to 10volts loader works perfect. Any ideas how to use same voltage source but slow loader
