While trying to cram a Little Train running time in with the boys before major Surgery on Tuesday. I decided to see how/if a MTH PS-2 384 Blue Comet engine could pull the 7, 400 series cars from my 400E set around the Layout. Well we coupled them up and let her rip. Sure enough the little #384 engine pulled the slack out and commenced to accelerate with Zero wheel spin. Which caught me by surprise. Than I remembered the Traction tires on the engine. Some may not like them but they do make a Hugh difference. The engine ran great for the entire time, which was about an hour or so. The engine surprisingly doesn’t look out of place. It sort of looks like a PRR Atlantic on a local passenger run. I think it looks quite good. If I can get the kids to help put some more 400 passenger cars on we will see if the 384 and its traction tires have a limit or do I run out of cars before It runs out of Tractive effort. I may have to retire the small three hundred series cars and give her a big boys consist for good. Any way you look at it its all fun and games until someone throws a traction tire.
