While checking the 3rd Rail website for an update regarding delivery of the FL9, I noticed what appears to be an image of the actual O scale locomotive:
If the picture is any indication, this will be a model well worth the wait.

Not as well versed in these scale proportions and details as many,I am very pleased with the PRR E7's that I purchased. You can count on 3rd Rail to do a great job trying to "get it right'. I'm sort of relieved that there is no FL Pennsy unit being made, but then there is an FP coming down the pike !

Norm,
Assume you mean the Sunset/3rd Rail PRR E7 models?
Norm, when did 3rd Rail do a PRR F7? Do you mean E7 by any chance?
The model that 3rd Rail had on their display at York was an Overland FL9. It was an absolutely beautiful model. I am not 100% sure, but I believe they also used this model for the photos on their website and in their ads. I'm not saying anything against 3rd Rail just stating what I believe to be true. If the E7s are any kind of indication I think they will do a good job with the FL9.

That photo must be of the Sunset 3 rail model - note the 3 rail wheel flanges and the truck mounted cab step. It looks very nice, and wets my appetite for the FP7's I've ordered.

OOPS--typo! Made the change.
Norm
Ed, yes it appears you are correct. I guess it was an older ad that I saw. I would swear I remember reading "Overland model shown".
That image is the next to final version ... one additional minor correction was made after this photo was done. I'm very excited to see these in person too!
