Pick up a $20.00 box of misc accessories at last months TTOS SP auction. Most were Ok, but these had been repainted with a brush somewhere in time. Took them down to bare metal and repainted them. Only part needed was the glass for the 56.

Great job. I like those.
Steve,
Great Tin plate work as usual. I like them a lot.

Steve, great job. I have two 53's that I'd like to do the same to. Could you post the paint you used and the paint remover product, as well?
Thanks.
Carl
I used Rust-oleum 249091 Ultra Cover Gloss Warm Yellow. It's a fair match for the yellow Lionel used on many of their tinplate accessories.
Because these were somewhat small pieces, I just used a bench top wire wheel to strip the paint.

those are great looking lamps, I's like to start picking some up.

Steve, a big THANK YOU for the information. The two that I have are from my original childhood trains that my Dad purchased in the late '40's I believe. Have the OB's as well.
Nice job.
I have an assortment of Lionel lamp posts out on display. They attract a lot of attention / comments from non-train folks. People seem to find them more interesting than the trains.
Very nice....were they difficult to paint?
Great job, love the Lionel goose lamp post have a bunch. Rewiring is fun as you need a pick to pull the fiber plate out with the wire if you need to replace the wire. I also left a couple bare with no paint and buffed the metal then cleared the light. Still wondering on how they put the filigree on the lamp, must be a simple operation. I did see re-pros on the filigree at a train show, do not remember who sold them or what goose neck the fit. Does anyone know who makes re-pro filigree's for the #58 lamp post?
