Does anyone know of any literature or books on the original 6464 boxcars for research purposes?
Thanks Buzz

the TM and Greenberg books should have plenty of info.
Thanks Steamer.
I understand the price guides and postwar guides, I was wondering if there was a book dedicated just to the 6464's with all their variations

Buzz,
The only thing I can think of would be one of the newer Greenberg books. Have you thought about the TCA"Q" Archives?
That would be my suggestion too... start HERE.
sent you an email
Thank you all,
I will check the archives.

One other source with specific variations, can be found in Doyle's book, "The Standard Catalog of Lionel Trains 1942-1969". A lot of the listings of some rarer versions of a specific number, will list the number of rivets in a column as an example. One specific variation of the 6464-150 Missouri Pacific has the "logo" in the column on the left of door, in the closest column. The normal issued 6464-150 has the "logo" two columns from the door. You will pay a premium for the logo in first column from door, which is Rare!!
Another source to check is Tandem Associates website who also list variations, of all the series.
