990 system production problem

not to be mean or anything but could you expand on this and state who you are to be able to make such a statement.

This came from an eMail sent to dealers. Maybe another dealer

will report the same thing.

 

Mike Reagan reported the same thing at the Legacy Users Meeting. The units produced were rejected by Lionel. Good move by Lionel not accepting bad units is far superior to "We'll fix it in the field" even if it does cause them to be delayed

By the sound of the op's post something new had happened.  Then this is old news, because notch6 had Howard Hitchcock on their last broadcast and Howard said he would fly the 990's over as soon as they are ready. That was the reason of my first post, just trying to clear things up. 

PA, will they make the #993 LEGACY Expansion Set?

The 993 is nothing more than a CAB-2 with a battery charger, so depending on where the bad components were will determine if they will go ahead with them. If the bad part is in the CAB-2 then no they will not be made

Not sure if it's been stated what the defective component was, maybe MartyE can chime in since he was at the meeting,. But I think I wouldn't be holding my breath for the 993's

He just said there was a component that was substandard and that was holding up production.  I don't remember him saying specifically what the precise issue was.

 

Should have purchased when I had the chance, but I had decided to acquire all the track and locos before upgrading my Cab-1.

You can still run while you wait, so it's not a total loss.  Just think about the folks that don't have the TMCC system waiting for the Legacy.
