I share the same interest, Dave.  Although online resources are certainly timely and helpful, I much prefer to have a written reference by my side when I'm actually doing something with a train or a control system at the layout.

I just received Barry's DCS book today, and have spent part of the evening going through a few select chapters such as programming trolley routes (since I own a good number of PS2 trolleys and PCC cars).  Learned quite a bit already.

Chris and John, I guess that sums it up. A simpler to use system doesn't need volumes to describe it's use and operation. I've been talking about this with some members at my club, where we have only been running DCS. Now, apart from only me, two other members and the club itself have decided to install legacy, just this past few days. So many of us have run out of patience with MTH's inability to supply parts, upgrade kits and information, and I love the ease with which Lionel make the information so available. Mike Reagan has really done a first class job at Lionel.
