Adding custom ditch lights to a legacy diesel

So the smoke unit option is out. I just get a flashing cab light error.

Same tired old request, please post the actual Lionel product number for the locomotive so we don't have to guess!

Since that model has the RCMC, it's quite possible the ditch lights are enabled on the board, so it would be a process of wiring them to LED's for the function.

Wonderful. Thank you for your response! I will give this a try later and post back with a response.

You'll find that connector is a 1.5mm spacing connector, the JST-ZH.  Those are available many places, I buy them at Digikey.

Did some quick tests. Ditch lights are disabled but ground lights are enabled and work with the LEDs. So if I’m not mistaken these lights will always be on with no way to turn them off with the legacy remote?

Ground lights go off when you are moving at about 10 scale MPH.  Ditch lights may not turn on until you're moving.
