So I have been able to update remote and the TIU to the latest software and now would like to add it to my Legacy/TMCC system. I have been reading the DCS O Guage companion that I bought and I have several questions. I have the TIU hooked up to the Legacy using the TIU/Legacy cable and then to track in passive mode. I now have a question. I have 2 main lines that are are on separate blocks and wanted to know if I hooked the fixed voltage out on track 1 to line 1 and if I hooked fixed voltage 2 out to mainline 2 will I have any issues? The DCS is really there to run a few engines since I have mostly Legacy/TMCC engines so the Legacy, ZW w180 bricks, and SC2s run my layout.

Thank in advance.

Jeff,

As long as the two mainlines are isolated from each other as regards their center rails there should be no problems.

Just ensure that the TIU always has power for itself. Unless the TIU is powered separately using the Aux. Power port, you'll need to have mainline #1 powered whenever operating on mainline #2. Refer to a detailed explanation of this in The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition, pages 92-93.

This and a whole lot more is all in "The DCS O Gauge Companion 2nd Edition", now available for purchase as an eBook or a printed book from MTH's web store site! Click on the link below to go to MTH's web page for the book!
