I am converting a dummy truck to a motor truck because I can with the Lionel parts sale knocking prices down to a viable level. Lionel 8919 Santa Fe A dummy to 8913 Santa Fe A powered.
My one question is simple: What is used to hold the 600-8263-45 ground strap in place within the 8263-100 plastic frame?
There are two vertical posts in the bottom of the frame, and they appear to be (I don't have the parts in hand yet ) perfectly spaced for the ground strap to just slip right over them - but what holds the ground strap down and keeps electrical contact pressure with the axles? Did Lionel use Palnuts? Did they melt and squish the tops of the two posts?
Please share if you have seen one of these before - thanks!
