I recently obtained one of the American Standard gas electric kits, #1657. These were from the '70's if I remember correctly.
I need trucks to complete this model. Does anyone know what trucks were to be used with this kit? Were they included with the kit, or purchased seperately?
What would have been the name of the Company and style of trucks etc. to look for?
Any information, leads etc. would be appreciated!!

I built one of the models back in the 1990s and used the Q car trucks with NWSL Magic Carpet drives. I could never get it to run continuously as the plastic gears on the power truck would collect pieces of loose ballast and jam then drive. Maybe NWSL has improved their power trucks or maybe it was my railroad. I did glue my ballast down but that power truck seemed to collect anything that was loose. I sold the model years ago. It was painted for the BSME's O Scale railroad (Allegheny Northern).

I am given to understanding that they have, Joe, but I myself have yet to bother getting one to test.
Their Stanton power trucks (for my On30 project) have nekkid gears..
