They haven't started it yet

Brian DeFazio, are you happy with the color? I haven't received mine yet.
Brad
Saw a review online and the color appears much brighter than previous Blue Comet releases. That being said, I bought the unit to add a "pop" of color and based on pics I've seen it certainly will. FedEx is bringing mine today.

Well, it's definitely bright...... doesnt match the color of the mth coaches I have.....not even close. Also doesn't match Lionel's previous blue comet colors (metca blue comet mint car for example). HOWEVER, it is still a beautiful locomotive.
Reminds me of the Blue Comet set they put out a couple years ago. That blue was lighter than previous run as well. Not sure I'd keep it but if you're happy with it then that's all that counts.
Well I figured it would not be like the Legacy Blue Comet from 10 years ago just from the catalog picture but was hoping it would not be as bright as the Lionchief Blue Comet. That one looked Carolina blue. Appears this one may be close to that.
Brad
Even though it's a tad bright I think it looks great! Nice splash of color in a sea of black steamers.
Just received mine today. The blue may be light, but I can live with it. Overall, this is a beautiful model. This is my first time I've ever gotten a LEGACY fantasy scheme in my collection. Since I don't have the LEGACY system in my new home yet, I tried to test in in conventional, but couldn't get it to run right. So I'll wait to test it on my other layout. Must be the new electronics doing that.
Beautiful real coal load in the tender.
As you can see, the cast-in coal load is blue, but I can always paint that black for realism.

You can run it via Bluetooth with the lionel app. It's free to download. You won't get all the features but you will get alot more then conventional. That's the way I plan to run mine when it arrives.

@Peter Araujo posted:Doesn't that need the wi-fi adapter?
No. It's Bluetooth. Peer to peer. Just power up the engine, make sure your Bluetooth is on on your device. Open up the app and connect to the engine.
@Peter Araujo posted:Doesn't that need the wi-fi adapter?
No you do not. As long as you have a cellular connection to load the app to your phone or other mobile device. The phone app will bluetooth directly to the locomotive. All you need is powered track. It is the same as any Lionchief, Lionchief plus or Lionchief plus 2.0 that is bluetooth equipped. There should be a "Bluetooth" switch on the bottom of the locomotive. All legacy engines are now bluetooth capable. You can youtube this and you will see how easy it is.
Brad
Thanks, everyone! I just tested it on my bluetooth app, and it works great! Video will come soon.
I picked up my NLOE Exclusive Long Island Camelback with Russian Iron Blue boiler and man does it look great!
I have a string of 7 Batman cars. What do ya think?
Gonna' go pick a Reading Camelback this afternoon.

That's the one I'm interested in as well. Please post some pics when you get a chance!
Here's my new Legacy Reading Camelback.
One minor complaint and it's common to all of the new sound boards for steam. No battery option! With the short spaced rollers, this locomotive loses sound over a number of my switches, especially the double-slip switches! It's a bummer they decided to cheap out on allowing a battery to bridge these sounds.
Going for a short run with my only Reading Heavyweight passenger cars, time to start shopping for some more.
Kind of had my eye on one of the Blue Comet versions, but they appear to be sold out at most every place I looked (online).
Trainworld says they have 13 left of this model
AND there is one for sale right here on the Forum

Allan,

I wish I would have got the PRR special run. It's hard to order without seeing them first with their latest track record.

Wow, gorgeous engine--congrats! Nicely done video, too.

Looks nice, GR.
Got my Reading Camelback yesterday. Looks great, runs great.
Got my Blue Comet Camelback a few days ago. Looks great, runs great and smokes great. Love the whistle steam. The blue is brighter then the past legacy blue comet paint so keep that in mind if you get one to run with other blue comet items. Will not match. I ran mine with a set of skeleton log cars and it looks awesome. Also I was pleasantly surprised that I had all whistles only using the bluetooth app. Instead of the slider bar on the app only changing the pitch sounds, it actually changes to different whitsles. The manual stated that on newer legacy models the pitch bar my change the whistle all together which it does. It also is nice that with bluetooth only you still get random brake squeal and other random sounds.
Brad
The blue was too bright for me, so I switched it to the Halloween special Camelback. Glad I did the sounds are awesome. Can't wait to run it next October at the club for the public.
