I can't say the make, but I have a similar set and they work just fine. I used them to troubleshoot my Big Boy bad motor.
Mine are simple to use, Set them on the track (make sure the one with the center rail connect is under a power roller), space to catch the wheels. Then place the engine on them and power up.
They are also very good for locating a squeaking point on a steamer.
I have a couple of sets of the JAK rollers, those look very similar, and the price is right.
I have an even dozen: enough to fully support with all wheels/trucks level, a Big Boy and its tender, etc.. They are pretty good. Never had any complaints and I have used them a lot. On the ones with the brass center pickup piece (the nearest the front in the photo), that brass piece and sometimes turn sideways, it is screwed on with just one screw in the middle and it can swivel, and if it does it won't make good contact. But its simple to check.
I'd probably try to secure the brass piece better. My JAK rollers have a brass leaf spring there, and it's secured so it can't twist. Lee always goes one better, I only have eight of the rollers, four with center roller contacts.
Thats a great price. I don't think you could buy the bearings for that let alone the rest of the materials and do the fabrication. As we say around here if you can buy it, then buy it because we can't make it for the price.

I clicked on the website and found Train Engineer. The product was discussed on this forum but I guess the product didn't catch on...?
I don't know who made them, but they look identical! And I paid A LOT more at Micro-Mark...
Joe,
I bought two sets almost twenty-five years ago for what their sale price is today. I have no complaints what so ever. They're still like new even with constant years ago.
I need some for my Std Gauge, hopefully they have them. The JAK rollers are $116.00+
Have them (not sure about the brand).
Invaluable when de-bugging a loco with electronic/electrical/mechanical issues. If they
help you locate/fix only -one- such problem, ever, they are worth the price.
Thanks Joe for posting. The price is really good. I just bought 2 sets.

I got a dozen because that many are needed to fully support a BB so everything is even, two for the front pilot, two for the rear truck, two a piece for each set of drivers - that's eight, and four - three would probably do but four - for the tender. When I set the JLC BB or Allegheny up on the bench like that, maybe once a year to lube and clear wheels, it is realy cool this way when it runs!
I have them (Aristocraft made them) and used them between layouts.......that is a GREAT price.
Peter
As usual, thanks for the input guys.
Thanks! I just ordered it!
Well Joe, now you've gone and done it. Cost me more money. I just ordered 2 sets.
I would say that this test roller setup is a good product to have at an affordable price. Crest is an offshoot of the former Aristocraft company and they are reputable. Their train engineer system may have been the inspiration for Lionel to develop LionChief as it works the same way- no base unit, just the remote and the control board inside the engine.
Joe, point the folks at Crest to this thread and they might give you a free one. I just bought a set too.
Pete
Yeah really. They did get a bunch of orders today.
Good catch, Joe........I jumped on the bandwagon also.

Thanks, Joe. I was browsing their site a couple of weeks ago and I noticed the rollers but then I forgot about them. Thanks for reminding me; ordered 2 sets.
Good heads up, been looking for rollers, ordered 2 sets.
Mort
going to take a ride there and try to pick them up in person
Boy, the list keeps getting bigger.
I ordered two sets for myself.
I ordered a set about 2 weeks ago from Crest.
They are identical to another set I have that I believe are Micro Marks.
Have'nt used mine yet but as Lee- ordered 3 sets yesterday!
just spoke to them, they can be picked up in person. road trip tomorrow
Purchased my set today, found these after losing ebay auction for a set of AristoCraft rollers last week - with word spreading these may not last long.
As others have mentioned micro marks were an alternative as were the E-Z riders by Bachmann.

NJCJOE, thanks for a great "find." Getting back into the hobby after a long absence, and I have 5 pairs of PW F3's and 2 PW steamers to service; these rollers will do quite nicely!
The seller is probably wondering why the sudden surge in orders; someone should send an email with a link to this thread with a tally of the number of sets sold. OGR moves product that's for sure. May be a forum sponsor in the offing.
I was there today to pick up mine. he asked me that same question. I told him he had a good price, I also told him to contact the Add Man about putting a banner up on the forum. this is the guy who invented the remote system Aristo was using in their G scale, he is now redesigning for O and HO. nice people, bad neighborhood.
Put my order in today and I second the suggestion that our Add Man should give Crest a call, looks like they have some nice products.

Just goes to show the power of this Forum.
Menard's certainly has sold a lot of product through OGR over the last 6 mos. or so; and, now they're a new sponsor.
Ah, the power of persuasion, I just ordered 2 sets also I've got an engine that's making noise in the drive train and this is the only way I'm going to be able to fix it.
Thanks Joe
I tried to order, they charge about $30 for either USPS or UPS? seems high. Are they in the USA? I am ordering from overseas but it is to be shipped to California...
Sam, my shipping was $15.40 (USPS).

They are located in Newark, New Jersey.
-Pete
They must not combine shipping. Mine was $7.70 for one set USPS Priority.
Pete
Thx guys, I must have missed when some one drove to pick them up, I would have known they are US based.
I am not sure what happened, I think their order system is recognizing I am overseas and even though I put in my California address, it still charges About $30...OH well, I'll order when I am home...
EDIT/update: I think they charge $15.50 to ship to CA for ONE item and they do not combine shipping so it is $31 shipping to CA for two sets....too much
