Anyone control a Lionel 450 signal bridge with the binding posts of an 022 switch?

You could connect all three of the signal wires to the switch machine post, but the signal will only show turn out direction in accordance to position of switch...

Same thing could be done with a #153 Signal also...

Thanks Marty. The extension of this idea is to then use an insulated track section(s) in the next track block wired back to one of the outside 022 posts to alter the turnout direction thereby changing the signal bridge lamps.

yes this will work and yes, it will effectively behave like the lights on an 022 controller - showing the current switch aspect.

i normally connect mine this way in temporary layouts as it's less hassle than using insulated sections and I'm just as happy seeing the turnout position.

I currently have one double track signal bridge wired up to two of the 1990's style Lionel switches (can't recall the cat. nos.) exactly this way, and it has worked just fine for years. They are set to show red when the switches ahead are not aligned for the track, and green when they are aligned. Simple and effective! Go for it.
