I have the CP Railking Dash 8 Holiday train and it stalls out on Fastrack switches because the pick-up rollers are too far apart. Anyone know of a different pick-up roller that will close the gap a little. I don't see anyway to add another roller.

Have you checked to see on both trucks that the pickup roller's wires are giving center rail power to the electronics in the unit. If the wire from one trucks rollers is broken from the E unit to the truck then the engine will stall on switches.

My layout is all Fastrack, and I have 036, 048 and 072 switches. I had the same problem when I got my CP Holiday Dash 8 (30-20435-1) last year on my 036 switches. Turned out the pickup rollers were just crooked, and all I did was straighten them out and that solved the problem. I hope this simple fix can solve your problem too. Good luck!!
Tap into the power from the car behind the locomotive for an extra roller.
MRMOE50,
Thanks for the advice! The rollers were maybe 2-3 degrees from center at the most but that seemed to fix the problem.
The rollers on mine were only slightly off center as well. I was surprised that’s what it was, but happy it wasn’t more complicated. Glad to hear you have it resolved.
