Hi James: It's a early Postwar Lionel #45 Gateman that someone has repainted and added some WW2 Army models/details to. Not a production piece I fear, hope you didn't spend much.
Many thanks Ray,I got it for around $20 to go with some army stuff I already have Jeeps helicopters etc from the Corgi Pork chop hill set & some Weaver troop cars.

Whoever adapted it did a nice job of it, I think it looks great!
Great idea. I think I will make one to go with my Army train. It is the most popular Lionel moving accessory I understand, and you could modify it in so many ways, as the "gatekeeper" at a construction site, etc. - I'd never thought about it before but this has a lot of potential.
