From Paul Graf at Atlas:

Our purchase includes the tooling and existing inventory for the following items. This is the entire line of Walthers O Scale structures - some were offered only as kits, some only as built ups, some both ways over the years. Nothing else was included in the sale:

Powered Oil Pump
Phoenix Oil
Golden Valley Passenger Depot
Brookhill Dary
Theater
Fairfield Station
Route 66 Motel
Sur-Sweet Feeds
Industrial Flats
Interlocking Tower
Toy Shop/Nicole’s
Water Tower
5 Star Gas Station
Ken’s Kar Town
Trackside Structures
Walton & Sons Lumber
Crossing Gates

This is great news, you can’t look at an issue of OGR or Classic Toy Trains without seeing a dozen pictures with Walthers kit in them. Walthers just lost interest in producing O scale. Atlas usually makes improvements to product they acquire, maybe they will introduce a few variations or new items as well. This is a good deal for Walthers, they get to stock the new Atlas items when they arrive without the cost of production or carrying a large inventory and modeless don’t lose access to some excellent kits.

PS: Most of the kits were made in Denmark and a few in China, I do not expect to see them on dealer shelves soon.

Steve,

Are you sure this last building is an Walthers HO building? Because it bears a stunning resemblance to the MTH 30-9017 gray two-tone bank. Difference is that in the MTH model the other side wall has the windows. But the front, the doors and windows are dead ringers. Must be a coincidence. Roll Eyes

This is a great development. I certainly agree with VidKidz above. The concerns expressed about cost, the inclusion of interiors and lighting, and easy bashing all suggest a need for these to be offered as kits rather than solely as builtups. Pat B.
