Hi all,

I just unboxed some new F7s and am trying to get them run.  Currently, I have (1) powered A , (1) powered B, and (1) non powered A.  I've set the IDs in my legacy to 81, 82, and 84.  I'm able to control the 2 powered units independently with the Legacy remote however when I build a lashup, neither responds (I've taken the non powered off to eliminate that part of the equation).  I've also noticed that the non powered A doesn't respond at all to any commands.  It just has the headlight, marker lights, and number boards lit.

My questions; What am I missing...how do I get the engines to lashup?  Should I expect more from the non powered A?

Tmcc locos require a train address of 1 thru 9. Also Mae sure you have the control of the remote set to RS100 as they are ERR boards they have 100 speed steps. When you add the first loco it should set the consist to the correct control setting in the remote. You might have to do a factory reset on them and start over

The train address was the issue. Thanks Matt!

Elliot, I thought about that but didn't want double horns and bells. And still wanted to be able to control the powered units independently. And (as Matt has seen 1st hand) I'm an obsessive compulsive nerd about keeping the Legacy remote orderly and organized.

Train numbers, TR1 to TR 9 can be used for lashup consist.  Engine numbers ENG  1 through 99   Cab1 hand held, original TMCC command base.

Example:  Make Train #6  All engines on the track with power applied, front light on indication, all engines in forward, even if positioned backward.

Front TR, 6, Eng, xx,  F,  Set.  (a horn will sound)  addresses the front engine.

Rear fc. forward TR, 6  Eng, xy,  R,  Set.  (a horn will sound)  addresses the rear engine if facing forward.

Rear fc. backward TR, 6  Eng, xy,  R,  DIR,  Set. (a horn will sound)  addresses the rear engine if facing backward.

All middle engines fc. forward  TR, 6 Eng, yy,  Set  ( a horn will sound)

All middle engines fc. backward  TR, 6 Eng, yy, DIR,  Set  ( a horn will sound)

When done, break the consist,  all engines have to be assigned to TR0.    TR, 0, Eng xx, set.

Yeah, it's so much easier to build a consist  in legacy. When building TMCC consists or "lashups" as they are sometimes called you can only use TR address 1 thru 9. However TR is also used for tracks or PowerMasters so if you have Powermasters they will use address 1 thru 4 so then you are limited to TR address 5 thru 9
