I am new to Legacy. I have been running DCS and TMCC engines through DCS. I have just added a new Legacy base with CAB 2. Upgraded base to 1.60 and CAB 2 to 1.61. I have both DCS wifi and LCS wifi. I have 1 TMCC steam engine on the track and I'm starting in baby steps: is my gear talking to the engine. My engine ID is 1. My test is: can I blow the whistle. I can blow the whistle using my DCS remote, DCS app on ipad, LCS icab on ipad. It seems like I can't get CAB 2 to talk to the engine. No whistle or anything else. The CAB 2 info screen says the CAB is running 1.61. I'm guessing I don't have the engine added to CAB 2 ? Any help would be appreciated.

First off select ENG and then 1, if that is the TMCC Address of the engine. Push info and add the name, road number, engine type, control type and railsounds type using the red knob to scroll through the various settings. In this case I would guess just the RS sound type not knowing the exact engine. Make sure under control type it is set for CAB1 or TMCC only (TMCC is preferred). If the control type is Legacy the TMCC engine will not understand the command. Once all that is entered then push info again and now the Cab2 should have icons on the numeric keypad. If all is correct the whistle should sound.

Thanks MartyE !! I'm on closing the pool detail at the moment but I'll try this later today. I did select ENG and then 1. 1 is the ID. I have name and road number blank. Engine type is steam. Control type and railsounds type are both Legacy. So I see is should have CAB 1 or TMCC. Railsounds should be RS not Legacy. So if I understand this correctly, the engine settings relate solely to the type of engine and not the LCS type ? Makes sense, you have to tell LCS how to talk to the engine.
MartyE, thanks again. I followed your instructions and the whistle blows, bell chimes and the engine moves. Great !!
