I am certain several of you can top this. Not a picture of the actual train, but of the board that Santa put up for my sister and me....though I am pretty sure it was the old man, and it was mainly for the old man!

I was born in 1947, so this is probably when I was 3, about 1951. I know many of us still have our original trains from back then (I have the 1947 GG1 and the 225E from then) .....so, who has a picture of a layout from back in those days? How early can we go? I have seen some early pictures on here.

The board is done in snow, and every board I have ever put up for Christmas since then, has been done in snow scenes. I still have those visible accessories, and a couple of the dime store, cardboard houses,  on the 2024 layout!

Go for it, Greg

I'll contribute.

This is my Uncle Chuck in about 1952.

This is probably 1960 before dad was forced into the basement with the trains.

I wanna say this is 1966.  I'm the little guys with my brother and one of my sisters.

Marty,

If that is you in the top picture, in 1952, you may have me beat....but close. If that is you in the bottom picture, you are not close. But if that is you and your dad.....your old man had a really great layout for back then!! Bet you enjoyed that. Thanks for the reply, Greg
